Deuces 2011.

Friday, December 30, 2011

It is the end of the year and as such it is a natural time to take stock of what is going on in life. 2011 was a very interesting year for me. I know interesting is the most blah word to use, but, honestly, I can't really describe it otherwise. From my personal life to my professional life, I've 180'd since last December. There is something very pleasant about that and something very nerve-wracking about it too. I know I am not alone in this. Friends have changed jobs and cities, questioned career paths, gotten married, gotten engaged, had books published, plays performed, dealt with familial issues, lost family members, etc. A year is both a lot of time...and not so much. Still, many of us can look around and see that we aren't in the same place as last December.

As 2012 is only a few days a way, I am feeling positive overall. Not like all-my-dreams-will-come-true positive, but more like, whatever-happens-happens positive. I'm excited about the play reading, about writing more, about changing/beginning new careers. I am usually far more pessimistic, but right now I can feel a surge of optimism. Here's to hoping it doesn't dwindle!

Also, in case you are wondering, a friend took pity on me and will join me on NYE. It is going to be a party. On a couch. Watching something like 'The West Wing'. You can say awesome? (Really...it is awesome. You just have no idea.)

Lastly, thanks for visiting this site. In the few months I've had it, I've had almost 300 hundred visitors from 16 countries and 25 states in the USA. That isn't huge, but it isn't small either. The fact that anyone comes here is a real treat. So thanks for that.

Wishing you and yours a wonderful new year!
