Gracias, Merci, Danke....: Opening Weekend

Friday, August 10, 2012

Well, it is here folks.

Opening weekend.

Woo-fucking-hoo!

Late last night, I had a short conversation with Illana, the director of or what she will. She was asking about a moment, seeing if I had any ideas (I didn't. I was useless. She has since had a wonderful epiphany so it doesn't matter that I was useless. Yay!). I got off the phone a bit giddy:

1. because I had been up since 5:45am and worked almost 10 hours

AND

2. because I got to talk about my play at nearly midnight, to the person who had really made all of this happen starting in January (Without Illana, my play would not have been submitted to the Fringe. She is the one who made it happen. For. Serious. )

This is my passion. I love writing. I love collaboration. I love seeing new worlds come alive. I am so incredibly grateful for this opportunity. I am so grateful for those involved with the play. I am so grateful for the support I've received from friends near and far. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Here's to hoping I get to blog about the debut of other plays (and books) I write for years and years to come!

And here's to hoping I don't miss my train because I am lazy and can't pack a bag.

I'll be back here on Monday...probably being even more sentimental and terrified.

(Take a look at this here article from TimeOut New York. Scroll Down. Notice the name of my show. Notice that it is going to be reviewed. Also notice that the article said that the shows listed "seem most promising". Cue happiness. Notice the word "seem". Cue terror.)

Oh boy. Prepare yourselves.
