Looking Ahead to November

NaNoWriMo, aka National Novel Writing Month, kicks off November 1st.

For the past two years, I've signed up to write, write, write for the month of November and I've usually quit around November 4th. I am hoping that this year I will be more successful. I have nothing but time and an idea already kicking around in my head. When I actually wrote a novel length piece before, it took me just over a month. So the time frame may actually be perfect. And I am a girl that needs a deadline...

Deciding to embark on the project on November 1st gives me ample time to get the play submitted and to get a lot of background research done of the piece. In case you are wondering what sorts of things I am going to be looking up: murder trials, executions, and baby bumps. I may even throw some research on psychopaths in there. Don't ask. Though someone made the mistake of asking me about TV interests this morning and it became clear that while I love a good comedy, hoarders and serial killers are my cup of TV tea. (Book suggestion for ya'll: The Psychopath Test)

So currently my November plans look like this: finish up training and then run half marathon, make vegetarian alternatives for Thanksgiving, and write at least 50,000 words.

Awesome.
